Great news!
The Super Scientist competition is on again. This term, each student will be expected to present a science experiment to the class. It is very important that they are able to explain what is happening and why. This gives every student the opportunity to demonstrate their scientific knowledge.
The presentations in Room 8 will be held each afternoon in Week 5
A class roster will be made up in Week 4, so that all students are aware of what day they need to bring along their equipment for their presentation.
We are all looking forward to some fantastic presentations and learning many new science facts.

No Throw (Trash) Tuesday
As part of the school's commitment to Sustainability, we are commencing No Throw Tuesday this term.
We will be monitoring lunch and recess packaging, so students are asked to bring their lunch in a lunch box, preferably without wrapping.

Numero

Students in Room 8 are very willing to share their skills. The following photos are of ‘Numero experts’ teaching their class mates how to play this excellent Mathematics game.

STEM Mother’s Day Gift Boxes

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The children were given the task of designing and creating a gift box that would hold three large chocolates. They had to be accurate with their measurements and creative with any changes and improvements when building their gift box.

Everyone used their STEM knowledge and skills to create some fabulous gift boxes. Photos of the children with their boxes are hanging in the classroom. Come in and check them out!

Welcome Back to Term 2

We have had a great start to Term 2. We have welcomed two new Year 4 students, Grace and Antony.

I am also so very pleased to be back at Wattle Grove School, working alongside Ms Martin and all the fantastic students in Room 8.  I am so impressed with the behaviour and positive attitude of all the girls and boys.
