Book Week Dress Up Parade

Dear Parents/Carers,

In order to celebrate Book Week, we are planning to hold a Dress Up Parade on Friday 24^th August. Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. The theme for Book Week 2018 is Find Your Treasure.

Our parade time is 8.50am – 9.30am

If possible, students could also wear a sign to show what character they are and what book they are from, if not immediately obvious.

Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3

We have been very busy in Room 8 since we commenced Term 3. Welcome back to the wonderful Miss Dowling, who is stepping in for Miss Martin while she is away on maternity leave for the remainder of the year. Also, big congratulations to Miss Martin on the safe arrival of her beautiful baby boy, Darcy.

Semester 2 Student Councillors

Akash and Rhyanna were voted in as our Semester 2 Student Councillors. Congratulations to them both. We know they will do an excellent job representing Room 8.

Super Readers

We are so proud of all the amazing readers in Room 8. Our Literacy Pro word count for the year so far is almost 8 000 000 words. What a fantastic achievement!

It is wonderful to see everyone excited about renewing their books and taking out new books from the library each week.

All students have now completed their Literacy Pro test for Term 3. We encourage everyone to jump online as soon as they finish a book and complete the corresponding quiz.

                    

HASS 

This term in HASS, we are learning about the three levels of government and how the democratic system of government works in Australia. During our ICT lessons, we have spent time researching the roles and responsibilities of different sections of the government.

                             

Morning Fitness

In preparation for the Athletics Carnival in Week 7, our focus in morning fitness this term is to improve our athletic skills.  We are training to develop our skills in pass ball, leader ball, tunnel ball and sprinting. We can't wait for the carnival and cross country!
