NAIDOC week

NAIDOC Week in Room 8
Report by Eve
Do you know what NAIDOC stands for? Let me tell you, it  means National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee. It is very important because we are acknowledging the Aboriginal culture.
One of the activities we did during NAIDOC Week was making boomerangs with Miss Martin. We drew Aboriginal symbols on our boomerangs.
We walked around the school with Miss Ryan and looked for words written in the Noongar language. The word for path is biti.
The Aboriginal culture is very important to Australia. All the activities we did help us to learn and understand more about the Aboriginal way of life.
